Forty Under 40 recognizes accomplished leaders who are under the age of 40 and also give back to their community. The awards are co-hosted by the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce and the Ottawa Business Journal.

Denise Siele is an award-winning event management/public affairs professional. While a Dean’s list student at the prestigious Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs and Policy Management at Carleton University, Denise founded one of the largest student organizations on campus; was instrumental in establishing Carleton’s Race and Ethnicity Hall; and was elected to successive roles on Student Council.
Upon graduation, Denise Siele established SEMgroup, a strategic events firm with core competencies in event management, communications and public affairs. There, she worked with a wide range of clients including the Government of Yukon, the United Nations Association in Canada, the Canadian Union of Public Employees and Citizenship and Immigration Canada to name a few.
Active politically, Denise has volunteered in over 10 political campaigns at the Federal and Provincial levels and is the past Co Vice-Chair of Equal Voice Ottawa. She is a Board Member with the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa Charitable Foundation, Advisory Member for Women in Philanthropy and Past President of the Fund for a New Generation.
She is a YWCA Women of Distinction Award Nominee; a recipient of the 2011 University of Ottawa Engagement, Empowerment and Success Award; and the 2011 Community Builder Award from Black History Ottawa.
